Meet Dr. John Sweeney
Dr. Sweeney is from Leland, NC. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a B.S degree in Biology from East Carolina University in 2000. He then went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where he graduated with Honors, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery(DDS) degree in 2004. Dr. Sweeney is highly driven to be the best in his field. Over the last twenty years, he has trained at some of the premier continuing education centers in the country, including the Pankey Institute, Spear, and most recently, the Stewart Center for Minimally Invasive Dental Medicine, where he both graduated from and later guest lectured for this program.
Dr. Sweeney has completed more than 2500 hours of continuing education focused on aesthetics, TMJ treatment, full mouth rehabilitation, and Invisalign. With this experience and expertise, Dr. Sweeney is grateful to treat patients who travel from all over the country, and even internationally, to help them find and achieve functional and aesthetic long-term solutions to their dental and TMJ health. In his free time, Dr. Sweeney enjoys writing and playing music, working out, and is an avid, life-long surfer. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three amazing teenagers.
