TMJ TREATMENT
TMJ TREATMENT
Temporomandibular joint disorders
TMJ pain and discomfort can drastically ruin your quality of life. It can affect day to day activities such as eating, talking, performance at work or school, sleep and almost any other part of daily life. In addition, in many cases, TMJ dysfunction can be progressive and slowly get worse over time leading to bite changes, changes in the jaw joints themselves, jaw posturing, tooth wear, cracked teeth, and changes to the symmetry of the face.
In 2017, Dr. Sweeney completed an 8 month training course, in which he learned how to help a vast majority of patients who suffer with TMJ dysfunction. Since then, he has successfully treated more 200 TMJ patients.
predictable and longest lasting solution
It’s our belief that in many cases of TMJ dysfunction, the source of the dysfunction can be traced back to a poor bite relationship, which creates orthopedically unstable jaw joints leading to a vast array of downhill effects. And although there can be several ways to treat TMJ dysfunction, we believe that stabilizing the jaw joints and perfecting the bite relationship is the most predictable and longest lasting solution for many but not all cases. With that in mind, Dr. Sweeney usually recommends an initial consult to determine if our protocols could work for you.
